Mark Hendrickson

The ACLU Board of Directors named Oklahoma City attorney Mark Henricksen to serve as Interim Executive Director. Henricksen is a former board member, president, general counsel and national board representative. He has been a volunteer ACLU attorney, having worked in the defense of the Tin Drum, the case against Oklahoma City over the LGBT banners, the Bethel Independent School District No. 3 t-shirt case, and numerous other ACLU cases.

Henricksen has been previously recognized by the ACLU-OK with the Angie Debo Award and has been honored as Abolitionist of the Year by the Oklahoma Conation to Abolish the Death Penalty in recognition of his success in reversing death penalties. The Oklahoma Board is conducting a national search to fill the slot vacated by veteran Executive Director Joann Bell, who retired February 4, 2011. The affiliate expects to fill the position in the Spring of 2011.
