Muneer and Bruce volunteer at ACLU table

The ACLU’s participation in the Paseo Arts Festival was a success! Held over Memorial Day Weekend, the festival drew hundreds of Oklahomans and provided a steady stream at the ACLU booth. Staff and board members, along with a dedicated group of volunteers, served as an outreach team. They shared information about the ACLU of Oklahoma and recruited volunteers and members. The pieces of five young artists were featured at our booth. Each of the artists graciously agreed to donate a portion of their sales to the ACLU of Oklahoma Foundation.

Just a few days after the Arts Festival, the ACLU of Oklahoma opened its doors for the monthly First Friday in the Paseo District. Clayton Issleib, a young artist from Austin, Texas, showed 15 pieces. The ACLU was pleased to show Clayton’s work. Through several sales Clayton made a substantial donation to the ACLU of Oklahoma Foundation. The event reached successfully reached new members of the community who were previously unfamiliar with the ACLU’s work. With several new members and volunteer prospects, the ACLU is prepared to deem the event a success.
