In fiscal year 2022, Oklahomans faced some of the harshest legislation in the entire nation. Our state recklessly planned an execution spree of 25 inmates on death row over the next two years. On both a national and federal level, Oklahomans seeking abortions were further denied the right to medical care. Transgender and non-binary Oklahomans were denied common access to school restrooms and evidence-based medical care. Additionally, public schools continued to feel the waves of HB 1775, as educators faced book restrictions and harsh punishments for teaching certain material on race and gender.
Throughout the year we measure the impact of your support through our Year in Review reports. This year, along with an overview from each department, we cover three of the biggest challenges Oklahomans faced: abortion access, equal protection of trans and non-binary youth, and classroom censorship.
Any progress we make, any wins we gain, are due to your efforts. Together, our community makes a difference. Thank you for your support over the past year.
